
Now that the king of cop cars—the Ford Crown Victoria—has ended its reign, the Blue Oval has two new Police Interceptors—a sedan based on the Taurus and a sport utility based on the Explorer—ready to give the bad guys a royal pain. Both vehicles recently started production at Ford’s Chicago Assembly Plant and are currently headed out to law-enforcement agencies across the country, bringing next-gen automotive technologies to the battle against crime. Notably, this technology includes Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, with twin turbochargers, direct injection, superior fuel-economy and emissions performance, and power outputs of 365 hp and 350 lb.-ft
